本专业培养服务于社会主义现代化建设需要的德、智、体、美全面发展的、基础扎实、知识面宽、能力强、素质高，具有一定的创新能力、突出的实践能力和良好的发展潜力的、从事信息与通信工程、网络工程等应用领域的研究、开发、生产、运行、管理、维护和技术支持的高级工程技术人才。
本专业毕业生应具备通信基础理论、各种现代通信技术和网络工程等方面的知识，具备在电力、信息通信、航空航天以及其它系统领域从事科学研究、工程设计、设备制造、开发、调测、网络运营和技术管理与工程应用，以及能在其他相关行业领域从事与信息通信技术相关的开发及应用能力，具备信息通信领域创新精神和创新素质。
This major aims at cultivating high-ranking engineering technicians who have the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical training and art, as well as sound foundation, wide knowledge, high quality, great potential, certain innovative consciousness and high practice ability.
After graduation, students should have the communication infrastructure theories, a variety of modern communication technologies and network engineering knowledge, and should also have innovative spirit and quality, so as can to do many types of information and communication-related work, such as scientific research, engineering design, equipment manufacturing, exploiting, debugging and testing, network operations, technology management and applying engineering etc, in the departments of electric power, telecommunication, aerospace and other related industries.
三、专业培养基本要求??? Skills Profile
毕业生应获得以下几方面的知识和能力：
1.??? 具有扎实的自然科学基础、较好的人文社会科学基础和较强的外语综合应用能力；
2.??? 掌握现代通信系统的基本概念、基本理论和基本知识；
3.??? 掌握信息传输、交换、网络与应用方面的理论和技术；
4.??? 了解通信技术的发展趋势和前沿技术；
5.??? 掌握文献检索、资料查询和信息获取的基本方法、手段和处理能力;

The required knowledge and ability for the graduates are as follows:
1. Have steady natural science foundation, better humanities and social sciences foundation, and strong foreign language integrated application capabilities.
2. Firmly master basic theories and knowledge of modern communication systems.
3. Systematically grasp the theory and technology of information transmission, switching, networking and application.
4. Be familiar with the development trend and the cutting-edge technology of the communication and information.
5. Be skilled in searching materials and acquiring related information using modern information technology.
6. Be trained in aspects of production operation system design, development, debugging and testing, operation, maintenance and on how to solve practical engineering problems. Can solve practical engineering problems by means of communication system and communication network theories and practices. Have the preliminary ability to design, exploiting, debugging and testing, operation and maintenance. Have certain research and innovative spirit and innovative quality.
7. Have good physical constitution and psychological quality. Mastering military and the basic sports skills.
